05/09/2014 |
The interest of Russian entrepreneurs for importing Argentine food products has grown considerably in the last month...

Matìas Garcia Tuñón, executive director of the Argentine-Russian Chamber of Commerce (CACIAR) , told Telam that this situation means true opening of “an unthinkable” growing demand of Argentine goods, but also of agrarian machinery, technology, medicines, construction elements and tourism.

"There is a demand that we cannot even imagine, and the consultations to our Chamber have increased by a thousand percent in the last month”, he said. The Russian market of food products is estimated in some US$ 18.000 billion annually.

The most required products are milk and dairy products, bovine, poultry and avian meat, fish, dry fruits, traditional fruits, Argentine popular food products that Russians regard as gourmet and soybean oil.

Russia imports 40 percent of its food consumption and the items it has ceased to receive from the European Union and the United States amount to some US$ 20.000 billion.
