Mercosur and the Euro Asian Customs Union (UAE) have completed the text of a memorandum of understanding that sets basis of dialogue for a future bi regional agreement
The negotiations were in charge of Secretary of International Economic Relations, Carlos Bianco, who is in charge of Mercosur ´s Common Market Group, and Adrey Slepnev, who represents the Customs Union, formed by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The round in Buenos Aires was the second after the one held earlier in Moscow. It was defined as “historical” because the first steps were made towards the memorandum of understanding “to improve dialogue with the idea of signing it before the pro-tempore chairmanship of Argentina in Mercosur winds up at the end of December”, Bianco said during a press round.
The Argentine diplomat added that the agreement will now be submitted to the members of the South American block and informed that “there is consensus in Mercosur that it will be for the benefit of all the countries involved”.
